Celebrating 66 Years of the Cultural Forum, Manipur

This momentous occasion was graced by distinguished personalities including Dr. Konsam Himalay Singh, retired Lieutenant General (PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, YSM); Prof. Nongmaithem Rajmuhon Singh, former Vice Chancellor of DM University; and Prof. Koijam Shantibala Devi, President of the Cultural Forum, Manipur, who served as presidium members for the event.

The celebration was marked by a felicitation and award presentation ceremony where 33 individuals were honored for their exemplary contributions in the fields of literature, culture, and other activities for the year 2023-24. Each awardee received a shawl, a citation, and a cash prize, recognizing their dedication and achievements in preserving and promoting Manipuri culture and arts.

In addition to the awardees, the event also honored senior life members, new patron members, and donors of the Cultural Forum, Manipur. Notable among them were Sorokhaibam Gambhi Devi, Wangkheirakpam Memma Leima, Prof. Rajen Toijamba, Prof. H. Akendra Sharma, and Prof. Huirem Bihari Singh, who have significantly contributed to the growth and sustenance of the Forum.

The 66th Foundation Day celebration not only highlighted the rich cultural heritage of Manipur but also underscored the continuous efforts of the Cultural Forum, Manipur, in fostering a vibrant literary and cultural community. As the Forum moves forward, it remains committed to its mission of nurturing and promoting the artistic and cultural legacy of Manipur, ensuring it thrives for generations to come.
